The Santa Clara County Office of Education approached us to re-imagine their traditional library into a 21st century learning environment and collaboration space for teachers. Artik partnered with One Workplace’s furniture and technology division and DIRTT Wall Systems to deliver a fast-tracked project with minimal construction. We started with the client’s request for an industrial café lounge aesthetic and added the element of biophilia with reclaimed wood and warm wood finishes, green and blue colors, organic carpet patterns, and a variety of textures throughout. The entryway now features an interactive video wall with artwork display, announcements and signage. Light fixtures and ceiling tiles were replaced and new window shades were installed allowing privacy without obstructing daylight and the view of the trees outside. Spaces that used to be dominated by book stacks are now open space with a variety of working and study environments, touchdown work stations for instructors, and Zoom conference rooms for small groups.
