The “Traditions of the Mekong Mural” at the Doris Dillon School in Cambodia is a lasting tribute to heritage, designed to inspire students and staff on the Music and Dance building. This international collaboration began in 2024, when artists partnered to envision a work that celebrates the deep roots of Khmer culture. The design process included virtual meetings where students learned about the artistic process, viewed Paul’s mural work, and later contributed their own sketches and ideas. In 2026, the team traveled to Cambodia where the mural came to life as students, alumni, and staff participated in the early stages of painting. Refined by artist Paul J. Gonzalez, the completed work stands as a testament to shared creativity and cultural pride. This project provides a beautiful and equally inspiring backdrop for school photos, gatherings, and ceremonies.
